Alberta Education accredited courses leading to an Alberta High School Diploma, taught through a biblical worldview.
Ready for Graduation and Beyond
Our Grades 10-12 online program provides students with a high-quality, Christ-centred education that prepares them for graduation and life beyond high school. Through engaging instruction, caring teacher support, and a biblical worldview, students grow in knowledge, character, and faith while preparing for their future.
Our Alberta-certified Christian teachers deliver Alberta Education accredited courses leading to an Alberta High School Diploma while encouraging students to discover and pursue God's purpose for their lives.
Live Instruction, Growing Ownership
Students participate in live online classes where they engage with their teachers and classmates through instruction, discussions, and collaborative learning. Recorded lessons provide added flexibility, allowing students to review concepts or catch up when needed.
As students prepare for life after high school, they take increasing ownership of their learning while receiving ongoing instruction, feedback, and support from their teachers.
Synchronous vs Asynchronous
| Synchronous Courses | Asynchronous Courses | |
|---|---|---|
| What is it? | Students interact live with their teacher and classmates at a scheduled time. | Students complete lessons and assignments independently on their own schedule. |
| When does learning happen? | At scheduled class times. | Anytime that fits the student's schedule. |
| Teacher interaction | Real-time instruction, discussion, and questions. Students can access individualized help during study hall sessions. | Feedback is provided through messages, comments, or recorded instruction. Study hall and periodic check-ins help students stay on track. |
| Student collaboration | Students can interact with classmates during live classes. | Limited interaction with classmates. |
| Flexibility | Students follow a regular class schedule. Core courses are held in the mornings, Monday through Thursday. | Students have greater flexibility to work at their own pace while meeting assignment deadlines. |
| Best suited for | Students who benefit from routine, live instruction, and immediate support. | Students who are independent learners or need a more flexible schedule. |
Whether students prefer the structure of live classes or the flexibility of independent learning, Hope Christian School offers a high-quality online learning experience designed to help every student succeed.
